Our regular "Buckaroo Banzai" (obscure '80's movie reference) Dan Gorin lives a double life: mild mannered vascular surgeon by day and glamorous a cappella singer by night. Live is divided between a busy surgical practice, running around with his wonderful wife Lisa and their three kids, and occasionally sneaking off with a fly rod in search of keeper stripers. Dan is continually amazed that he gets to live and work where he can smell the ocean, be on his boat 2 minutes after leaving work, and can walk from his house to the best ice cream on earth (Four Seas Ice Cream, Centerville MA...caramel cream). He sings everything from Alto to Baritone, writes the occasional arrangement when he finds time to breath, and is the only member of the group with a pitch pipe, so he gets to blow it. His biggest regret is that he has not been able to convince the group to do an Jimmy Buffet song. (yet)
Dan's previous singing experience
Dan has been singing a cappella since high school. His experience includes collegiate groups: The Bowdoin College "What Four"(director 80-82, 83-84) and the Wesleyan Spirits (82-83), and Post Grad "The Spare Parts" (Hartford CT 12 man jazz group), B.M.O.C. (director, 4 part male pop/jazz etc), Acappacolypse (director, 7 part male pop). He was an original member of The Works when it started in his Arlington living room over pizza and beer in 1994.
